Nadine’s art piece was created during a period of recovery. She started by knitting and crocheting, then moved on to stitching pieces of fabric onto a canvas made of bleached cotton. The process was organic and unplanned, with Nadine focusing on the experience rather than the end result. She experimented with dyeing and bleaching the fabric, which interacted with each other and with other elements like red wine and paint, resulting in an unpredictable outcome. Nadine found this process of letting go of control and embracing the unknown to be a profound experience, allowing the art to develop its own identity.

Nadine believes in the potential for the art to resonate with viewers, particularly those who have experienced chronic pain. She has used art as a way to cope with and express her pain, and hopes that this approach will gain more space within healthcare.
