About The Chronic Pain Project: The Chronic Pain Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving voice to those living with chronic pain through visual art, making "the invisible visible" and fostering community for artists navigating pain conditions.
Position Overview: We seek a strategic finance leader to guide our organization's financial vision and growth. While we have an accountant handling day-to-day bookkeeping, we need a Board Treasurer to provide big-picture financial direction and oversight for our expanding programs and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic financial planning and budget oversight
Present financial reports and analysis to the board monthly
Guide fundraising strategy and revenue diversification planning
Monitor organizational financial health and sustainability
Oversee annual budget development process
Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations
Advise on major financial decisions and investments
Support grant applications requiring financial documentation
Work with our accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting
Qualifications:
Professional experience in finance, accounting, or nonprofit financial management
Ability to read and interpret financial statements
Strategic thinking about organizational growth and sustainability
Understanding of nonprofit financial best practices
Experience with budget development and oversight
Knowledge of grant funding and diverse revenue streams preferred
Personal connection to chronic pain community (as someone living with chronic pain, caregiver, healthcare worker, or ally) preferred but not required
